Call for Film Submissions 

for the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars) – International Feature Film Category

Dear Filmmakers,

On behalf of the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS), we are pleased to announce the official call for submissions of eligible Bangladeshi films for consideration in the International Feature Film Award category (formerly known as Foreign Language Film) of the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars), organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), USA.

In accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Academy, Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) has been authorized to invite and review entries from Bangladesh under the Oscar Bangladesh Committee chaired by Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam. The selected film will represent our country on the global stage of cinema. All Filmmakers and Producers are requested to collect the form from BFFS’s office and submit them by deadline.

• The film must be predominantly in Bengali language with English subtitle.
• It must have been first released in a commercial cinema hall in Bangladesh for at least seven consecutive days between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025.
• The film must be produced in Bangladesh, with significant creative control from Bangladeshi filmmakers.
• Submissions must comply with all AMPAS technical and eligibility requirements.

Submission Guidelines: 

Interested producers/rights holders are requested to submit their film along with the following:

• A completed application form (available from the Coordinator, Oscar Bangladesh Committee, BFFS)
• Proof of release date and exhibition run (minimum 7 days)
• Two DVD/Blu-ray screeners or a secured digital link
• Press kit, synopsis, and key credits of the film
•  

Deadline for submission to BFFS: 16 September 2025, 5:00 PM

Submissions should be sent to BFFS Office: Planners Tower, 3rd Floor, 13/A Sonargaon (Bir Uttom Chittaranjan Dutta) Road, Bangla Motor, Dhaka 1000.

The Selection Committee, duly formed by BFFS, will review all eligible submissions and announce the Bangladeshi entry to the Academy. We encourage all Bangladeshi filmmakers whose work meets the eligibility criteria to submit their films and take this opportunity to showcase the creativity, diversity, and cinematic excellence of our nation on the world stage.
